    Knowing Nature: Art and Science in Philadelphia, 1740–1840

    It’s always an honor to work with Yale University Press and designer Susan Marsh. Since the design of Knowing Nature called for justified text wrapping around inset images, avoiding loose lines was one of the biggest typesetting challenges.

    Infinite Jest

    This gorgeous exhibition catalogue, designed by Susan Marsh, was typeset for The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It features work from Leonardo da Vinci, Honoré Daumier, and Al Hirschfeld, covering more than 500 years’ worth of caricatures.

    Ike Taiga and Tokuyama Gyokuran: Japanese Masters of the Brush

    This 500+-page catalogue, designed by Katy Homans, is a survey on the lives of two preeminent artists in 18th-century Japan. Careful typesetting of both translated and transliterated Chinese poetry was required for this project.
